Meetings

Our weekly meetings have three parts:

    Prepared speeches
One to three members give speeches that they have prepared ahead of time.

    Table topics
Members without other meeting duties are called upon to give a short impromptu speech on a question or topic.

    Evaluation
Speech evaluators constructively and positively review the speeches of the prepared speakers, and a General Evaluator reviews the success of that night's meeting.

At Addison Singles Toastmasters, we have theme meetings each week. Themes in the past include Halloween, The Andes, Conspiracy Theories, The Good Old Days, Birthday Celebrations, and My Home State. On occasion, we dress in costumes (optional).

"I believed getting more comfortable speaking in front of others would help me become more extroverted and confident. It has! I have a good solid feeling about being a member of this group. A good Toastmaster, by definition, is responsible and supportive. We have many good Toastmasters. Our club is a good place to experiment with one's own creativity: first to compose it, and second to talk about it in front of an audience." -- Larry
